Day 28 Injury

Yesterday while we were at the Galeria Olimp we found a sports store... and you wouldn't believe it that we found a real American Football inside! We have wished a hundred times that we brought ours... you cant really find them in Po land... But we found 1. The only one we've seen since we got here! And we bought that bad boy... and Mr. Mecham was so excited about it when he got home that he and the boys went to the park to toss it around! That is where McKay pulled a muscle in his ankle... the same ankle he babied for 4 months in physical therapy. He could hardly walk. He iced and iced... stretched and iced...but he just couldn't walk.
This morning was a little better, but we planned on taking a day to recover... that is when movie marathon came in handy!
But then Cole decided to take his turn with injury.

I am not fond of these little stairs. I lay awake at night thinking about tripping and falling down them before we ever moved here. Once I saw those pictures of marbel stairs I worked myself into an ulcer thinking about injury that awaited and most nights I would have to sing primary songs to get those aweful thoughts out of my head. Who puts marbel stairs with or without a banister in their house? Marbel is for counter tops or flooring in the Trump home. Needless to say, I've never been fond of them. And today it happened...
Coley tripped on stair two and face planted down the rest of them and almost fell off the edge on to the next set of stairs going down. We were just 10 feet away and couldn't get there fast enough to stop it. It was aweful!

And it scared him to death...

It left Mr. coley with a puffy and skidded up eye and two claw marks on his chest from the sharp edges.
And we were so thankful that he was okay... and is ever so tough.
And then he joined Mckay on the couch with a bag of ice on his eye while Mckay iced his ankles.
FYI: Ice comes in bags the size of a gallon zip loc around here. So we cant store enough of it! The freezing snow will cut down on the ice bill around here... The boys can take their injury outside in a few months! I am sure we will need it once the ice skating, sleds and skis come out.

Poor little dude! I said the same thing when I saw the stars (via the blessed video phone :)) They are gorgeous, but not very kid friendly. Here in the U.S. we pride ourselves in making EVERYTHING kid friendly. You can't even find real wood or metal on a playground anymore. Plastic reigns supreme and it causes cancer. I'm done ranting now.

Merilee...she is funny! But that is true, who puts marble on stairs. I will ship you some of that pretty plastic floor covering (you know that beautiful stuff people cover their carpet with) to cover those bad boys. I wish we could have joined you for a movie marathon!
