day 17 A Happy Birthday

Today was Elder Plumb's birthday! His 21st birthday! In celebration of this lovely day, the Potters and our family took the missionaries to dinner at Elder Plumb's favorite spot; Dulce Vita. It is Italian delight! Then we had chocolate cake and ice cream back at our house with Jasmine and Cody. It was fun! Not your typical birthday, but nothing is real typical when you are on a mission! Plumb worked his buns off all day!
I can't say enough about Elder Plumb. When we got to Lublin he was our branch President... and a fine President he was! Every member of our church knows that most young men serve their missions from age 19-21. For Plumb this is true... and so he is nearing the end of his mission. I can imagine how excited his family is to have him almost home. Here in Lublin, we are sad to let him go but we know that good things await him anywhere he goes.
In the few short weeks that we've been here (and the time Mr. mecham has been in Poland) Elder Plumb has not only served the people of lublin, Poland, it's members and non-members alike, but he has taught English to the Polish speakers and Polski to the Angleski speakers. He is ALWAYS willing to translate for us and he spends Sacrament meeting on his feet translating back and forth for all of us. He is a luxury for all of us! We nearly tear up when we think of his absence.
Elder Plumb will be transfered out of Lublin to finish up his mission in another city on Tuesday. So we felt honored that we could celebrate his birthday with him before he goes. We look forward to hunting him down in the future back in St. George! It has been a complete delight and pleasure to rub shoulders with one of our all time favorite missionaries!
We love you Elder Plumb! Happy Birthday! We wish you a life time of happiness and a seriously HOT woman when you get home in November! :)
